story time!

I woke up early today SO excited for story time at the library! We went last week...but it was canceled :/ so my first day of story time was TODAY!! I sat on my own mat like a big girl, I had my own name tag and chose a lady bug sticker to put on it. I was a little nervous going up to the front by myself... so mommy went up with me...After all, this was my first time! We read a book about the itsy bitsy spider and then got to touch a big stuffed spider!! She asked us if we knew what it was...and I said, "YUCKY SPIDER!!" LOL
Then we sang a lot of songs, danced and played with bells to the music!--- (If you know me, you KNOW that was my favorite part! I didn't want to stop singing or dancing...!!)
Then I got to choose some more books from the library to read this week :) and the only part I didn't understand that well was having to give BACK the books I got last week??!! No one explained that to me...and even tonight I am so sad and I really want to read "Honeybunny Funnybunny!!" :(

the PARK

Daddy and I had so much fun playing at the park today! He loves to go down the slides with me and play with me the whole time! There weren't any other kids ("my friends") at the park today but daddy is JUST AS FUN!! I love him! Here we are having a blast!

Good morning!!

Well I love being able to turn on the lights...All I have to say is, "Good morning, mommy! Time to wake up!!" while I turn on the lights...and that means its OK to get up anytime, right??????? I thought that when the lights are on it means its time to be awake??? ...not at 3am, i guess...who knew??

here I am today! :) Mommy took some pictures of me in my princess Cinderella halloween costume...just for fun (for her anyway! lol) Here I am after I changed back into my clothes! I was happy as can be because mommy and daddy had just told me that we were going to get ice cream!!! :) Cold Stone was delicious!!

What a great weekend! On Friday I turned 2 and a half!! I was so excited when I got a "Happy half birthday!" card from Chuck-e-cheese! Inside the card was a certificate for 20 free tokens to play! I couldn't help but exclaim, "Thank you so much!!" So we ended up celebrating my half birthday by going there to play and just having a fun night as a family! Now that I am 2 and a half years old, I am talking ALL THE TIME. As long as I talk clearly (and take my binky out) my mommy and daddy can understand everything I am saying. Its been really nice! I am saying phrases with about 7-8 words now and repeating most everything so that I know how to say it the next time! I love reading and playing with my babies and little people! I am learning how to do more crafts...its fun getting bigger! :)

quizzing mommy...

I have a encyclopedia book of all different types of animals... I love looking through it and mommy and daddy usually ask me, "what is this, Avril?" So today I turned the game around and quizzed mommy instead!! I pointed to each animal and asked, "What's this, Mommy?" She knew MOST of the answers but once and awhile she said, "I don't know this one, Avi...can you tell me what it is?" So I had to help her out! :) All in all, she did a good job! After each animal she answered right I said, "Good job, Mommy! A zebra! Right!" :) It was fun!

"La Bruja"

Surprisingly, the DORA dvd that we rented was too scary for me to watch. I was clinging to daddy the entire time because of the mean witch..."la bruja" was flying around Dora and Boots with her two mean monkeys...and because of that I didn't get to sleep until after 1am! I kept waking up and crying and talking about "la bruja." :( I am sooo tired from not getting enough sleep! Dora, why was your show so scary this time??

been forever!

oooh my goodness. Its been forever since Ive blogged! I gotta do better! I promise I will! Where should I start...I guess first of all, sadly enough for me...the Clifford exhibit is gone now!! We were so used to going at least once a week to the children's museum and seeing Clifford...Now they are getting ready for a new exhibit...a haunted house exhibit... Sounds a little scary!!! Speaking of halloween...I am sooo excited to say that I am going to be "princess cinderella" this year! :) I get to wear a "princess hat" too!! This will be my first year going trick-or-treating. Last year a TON of kids came over to my house and got candy. I don't know if you remember this, but I was so little then and I thought the kids were all coming over to play with me!! I was so upset when they didn't come inside! LOL. This year I am bigger so mommy and daddy (and uncle Josh too because he wants candy LOL) are going trick-or-treating in the neighborhood!! I am excited but a little nervous too.
This Summer flew by!! Since I wrote last we actually went back to grand rapids to visit for a couple of days! It went by too quickly and it was a hard trip for me because I do need my naps still... But I did get to see Grandma Taber and Don, Grandpa, and even my best friend Chloe!! Daddy and I have been waiting all summer to play in the Lake and we had so much fun!! I will post some pictures of our beach time later!! Chloe and I had so much fun together, I really missed her and asked to go to her house all the time! So it was so fun to be able to play again. Speaking of Chloe, she is a big sister now!!! Chloe's mommy had a baby girl last week! Did you know that I am also going to be a big sister!!!??? About three months from now I will have my own baby sister to play with!!
Anyway, I better get some sleep! I have my first story time at the library tomorrow. A new library and new friends to meet! Talk to you soon!! xoxo Avi
